Stoßgruppe III Living History Society - About Us

An individual who wanted to share his hobby with others formed what is now Stoßgruppe III.

A Living History Society.

The unit was created some six years ago with a handful of people from all walks of life, from car mechanics to caterers, from Scotland to Germany. Since then it has gone from strength to strength with a total of 10 members as a part of its committed membership.

The aim of the hobby is to bring alive the military aspects of an armoured troop division. To give people a pastime full of interest with an outdoor life where each and every member has a chance to live the life of an elite soldier acting out orders and instructions in the theatre of war. This is role play at its best.

It also gives the members an inside view on how the German soldier survived. He was a disciplined war machine armed with some of the finest engineered weapons of W.W.II. As a recruit, you will get the chance to learn the German commands required to take part in this re-enactment unit.

We meet approximately once a month where we either display our hobby to the general public or have a weekend fighting a private war in the South-West of England. Dressed in period authentic clothing and armed with genuine firearms we assume the role of the famous Waffen SS soldier.
